Description:
Perennial bulbous herb. Leaf solitary basal, elliptic lanceolate, basal lobes more or less clasping the flowering stem; margin wavy. Inflorescence an erect terminal one-sided raceme. Flowers pendulous, green.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: platyphyllum: wide-leaved
Habitat: In grassland or open woodland, in seasonal pans and on poorly drained soils.
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
