Description:
Succulent perennial forming clumps up to 1 m in diameter. Stems decumbent, 40-200 mm long, grey-green marbled with reddish purple, often rooting when touching the ground. Inflorescence 1-3 on the younger stems at the base to near the apex, with 20-40 foul smelling flowers. Pedicels 10-15 mm long. Sepals 8-9 mm long bent outwards at the tips. Corolla dark purple-maroon c. 6 cm in diameter with a rough papillate surface; 2-6 mm long, somewhat thickened at the mouth; lobes ovate-lanceolate, 15-20 mm and 5-9 mm wide at the base, with scattered cilia along the margins.
