Description:
Small succulent perennial, up to 12 cm high, forming clumps up to 30 cm in diameter, rarely more. Stems decumbent to suberect, grey-green, sometimes mottled with purple, 4-5-angled with tubercles broadly deltoid, spreading, 3-8 mm long. Inflorescences 1-3-flowered, per stem on pedicels 8-12 mm long, spreading to hold flowers horizontally. Corolla 20-28 mm long and 20-40 mm in diameter, bell-shaped; outside smooth, cream to pink with 3-5 raised veins on each lobe; inside papillate, cream, finely spotted with red-brown or maroon, forming concentric lines in the lower half of the tube. Corona 5-6 mm tall, without a basal stipe; outer lobes spreading at the base of the tube, emarginate, maroon; inner lobes 3-4 mm long, cream spotted with pale maroon, erect, connecting and diverging towards the dark-tipped apex.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: longituba: long-tubed, referring to the long corolla tubes of the flowers.
Habitat: In sandy areas under shrubs or trees or in stony ground.
