Description: |
Small tree with green stems pubescent; older stems with dark red-brown or purplish bark, sometimes lenticellate. Leaves at apex of main and lateral branches, elliptic to broadly elliptic when young, broadly to very broadly ovate when mature, 4.5–13 cm long, papery, more or less sparsely pubescent on both surfaces; lateral veins in 6–8 main pairs; domatia inconspicuous; petioles 5–13 mm long, pubescent; stipules triangular-ovate, 8–11 mm long, with marginal area membranous and shiny, falling soon. Flowers 5-merous, in 10–30-flowered inflorescences restricted to apical node of mature stem; peduncles 5–25 mm long, pubescent. Calyx c. 1 mm long, densely pubescent. Corolla bright yellow or greenish; tube 2–3 mm long, pubescent at throat; lobes triangular or oblong-lanceolate, 2 mm long, thickened at apex. Fruit more or less square in lateral view, 8–9 mm wide, slightly tapered towards the base and slightly indented at apex, sparsely pubescent. |
