Shrub or small tree, new growth and leaves densely whitish velvety. Leaves 3-5-foliolate; leaflets elliptic to narrowly obovate, 2-7 cm long, grey-green to silvery-white on both surfaces; petiole 1-3 cm long. Inflorescences axillary, 3-9 cm long, many-flowered. Calyx distinctly and broadly lobed; lobes spreading, 1.5-2.5 mm long. Corolla sweet scented, 7-8 mm long with a white tube and mauve-purple-blue lobes. Fruit an obovoid nut, c. 5 mm long,sharply tipped by the remains of the style, mostly enclosed by the enlarged calyx. |
