Bark: rough, glandular, dark brown with glands. Sap: none. Other: very thick shrub with low branches, feather-like growth form. Many ants on plant - nectar and/or glandular secretions. Feels sticky. Filed at WIND under Baphia massaiensis massaiensis but that subsp. is restricted to Tanzania

15 m high; Tree; Notes: Huge umbrella shaped tree, 15 m high. One, straight, thick stem growing upwards. Bark rough, peeling, light grey, no sap present. Flowers white, 10 cm long, spike, clustered, sweetish smell. Uncommon, in well-drained sandy loam soil, on plain in closed shrubland.

18 m high; Tree; Notes: Huge single stemmed tree, 18 m high with latex. Smooth, white-grey bark. Fruit 15-20 mm in size, round, speckled with red spots, smooth, sweet smelling. Rare, on sand dunes. Might have been planted.

15 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree. Height: 15m. Stem: one, straight, thick, growing upwards, latex white. Bark: smooth, green-yellow. Fruit: green - white, 20mm in diamter, round - elliptical, velvety, clustered on thick stems and branches. A very big tree with low branches. Fruit eaten by locals. Sap: present.

Bark: smooth (much like Terminalia prunioides), peeling, smooth with loose patches of peeling bark. Dark reddish. Fruit: reddish, 30-50mm, disc-shape, clustered, smooth. Sap: none. Other: large high tree.

8 m high; Tree; Notes: Dense tree, 8m high. Stem: one, straight, thick, growing upwards. Bark: smooth, peeling, dark reddish. Flowers: bright yellow, 10mm in size, pea-shaped, sweet smelling, smooth, slightly velvety texture, in huge clusters, very beautiful if in full bloom. Soil: sandy loam.

Shrub; Notes: Small shrub with softish stems. Leaves dark green and slightly fleshy. Flowers impressive with four white petals and the middle (bottom) are blue. Rare, in that area. Fire damaged.
