Tall tree ca. 14 m in height growing on anthills. Trunk grey with deep vertical fissures. Branches smooth grey with white patches. No spines. Leaves compound bipinnate in tufts of 3-4. Fruits/flowers not visible. Collected 20 July 1996 from termite mound within 14 acre chimp enclosure.

Weed/grass around 0.5-1 m in height. Stem green to red. Leaves opposite divided into 3 leaflets with serrated margins; green to red. Flower small, yellow centre with small white petals. Fruit "blackjack", thin black seeds that cling. Collected 26 July 1996 from fields fence line next to 14 acre chimpanzee enclosure.

Tree of medium height, ca. 5 m, with spreading crown and curving branches. Bark grey, very rough with vertical fissures. Fruit red/brown pods with many green to brown seeds inside; unripe pod is fuzzy, dried pod is not fuzzy; size ranges from 15-23 cm. Leaves green leathery with notched apice and base, ca. 10 cm in diameter; loses leaves in July-Aug. People eat dried pod. Leaves cooked in pot with water and smoke/steam is inhaled to get rid of coughs or demons. Collected 28 July 1996.
