Description of the genus

Annual herbs, prostrate, woolly. Leaves spathulate; margins flat. Heads in terminal glomerules embedded in wool; involucral bracts in few series, the tip of the lamina acute, whitish. Receptacle honeycombed. Flowers 11-125; corolla hairy on back of the lobes. Fruit an achene with duplex hairs. Pappus bristles evenly barbed.

Worldwide: 2 species, native to Namibia, Botswana and northern Cape.
