Description of the genus

Perennial herbs or dwarf shrubs, erect, sometimes rooting at nodes, aromatic. Leaves alternate or opposite at base, sessile or petiolate, with entire margins. Capitula discoid, solitary or corymbose, pedunculate. Involucre hemispherical; phyllaries in 3-4 rows, inner rows smaller than outer. Receptacle hemispherical, without scales. Disc florets: corolla yellow, tube narrowly cylindric; lobes 5, glandular. Pappus absent.

Worldwide: 4 species endemic to southern Africa.

Botswana: 2 taxa.
