Description: |
Tufted, hispid perennial with culms 60–120 cm. high from a knotty, pubescent base. Leaf laminae 15–25 cm. long and 2–6 mm. wide, linear, flat, acuminate. Panicle 17–26 cm. long, elliptic-oblong, moderately branched. Spikelets 2.5–3(3.5) mm. long, ovate; inferior glume 1/3 the length of the spikelet, broadly ovate, 1(3)-nerved; superior glume 5–7-nerved; inferior lemma similar to the superior glume, male, its palea well developed; superior lemma and palea pallid, glossy. |
